If you are currently using a Windows 8, Windows 8.1 or Windows RT PC with an Office version that is out of support, you must upgrade to Windows 10 before you can use Office on your PC. To learn more about Windows, visit
If you are using a PC you previously had in your Office 365 organization and you have not been offered a subscription to Office Home & Student, Office Home & Business, or Microsoft 365, you will be able to use Office on your PC through the end of your product's support period. This may include renewing your subscription.
If you're updating through Windows Update, the update package will be updated on every computer that is running Windows 7 on which the update service is enabled. This update will take effect on a computer without restarting the computer. To force an update, you can use the Update Manager app (from the Windows Update section in Control Panel).
